Conversion of Amber and Jasmine Cottages from an Old Stable block was completed in March 2006. Crickley Court was at one time a Coaching Inn called “The Crown” and it is at least three hundred years old. The original beams downstairs have been sandblasted and retained.
The stables
were for the extra horses required to pull coaches up Crickley Hill on their
way to Stow-on-the-Wold. Although Crickley Court is on Dog Lane, the old Coach
route is now part of the nearby A417 which means there can be traffic noise
at peak times though the Cottages have triple glazing.
Both cottages are “upside down” and have bedrooms and bathroom/toilet facilities on the ground floor. A staircase in each leads to the open plan dining, sitting and kitchen areas. Washer/drier, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, double electric oven with ceramic top, microwave oven, toaster and electric kettle are provided in both. All electricity, heating, bed linen and towels are inclusive and there is a wood burning stove for those cooler evenings in autumn or winter. High chair, cot and stairgates are available on request. Please let us know if you have any other requirements.
We also provide a Welcome Pack for both Cottages so you don’t need to rush out to the shops immediately on arrival!
Short breaks are available – 2 or 3 days and weekends.
We look forward to welcoming you
